Building Bridges Through Conversation: A quarterly series of dialogues with the community on pre-selected topics that are plaguing the community (i.e. Images of African Americans In The Media; The “War On Girls”)
Community Development Initiative: Provides the community as well as GAMS members with resources, education, support, empowerment, and training for economic, personal, social, professional and community growth and development.
HIV/AIDS Education, Awareness, & Testing Initiatives: Various activities and annual participation in numerous national campaigns to keep the community abreast of the disease with intentions to assist in the eradication efforts.
Mary McLeod Bethune Leadership Institute (MMBLI): A summer program that mentors and develops the skills and talents of girls ages 13-18, providing leadership skills, community service, life skills, social interaction skills and health education and awareness.
Voter Empowerment Initiative: GAMS hosts a variety of programs designed to educate the community on current political and policy issues including candidate forums, voter registration drives, legislative forums, thus empowering voters to make decisions that are in the community's best interests.
Young Women's Issues Forum (YWIF): Annual forum on the unique issues facing women of color, age 40 and younger. YWIF is a lively debate and discussion of concerns and challenges faced by these women including, professional and career development, civic responsibility, education, personal spirit and childcare.
