The Greater Atlanta Millennium Section is lead by dedicated members who volunteer their time to serve in the following leadership roles.  They are committed to the management of the section’s involvement in the community and the calendar of events.  Listed below are the program teams that plan and implement the activities that members select to carry out NCNW’s mission.

GAMS MEETING INFORMATION

BETHUNE PROGRAM TEAM
Serves as a resource to increase the capacity of communities to address the multiple needs facing African American families, and to effectively link families with neighborhood and community services. Responsible for initiatives relating to health, education, youth and elder care.

FUNDRAISING TEAM
The team develops, plans, and implements projects with all section members to provide funds for programs and operations. Develops fundraising projects.

MARY MCLEOD BETHUNE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (MMBLI) TEAM
MMBLI focuses on the development and enhancement of the leadership potential of young women, ages 14-18, in the metro area. The first part of MMBLI is a seven-week Summer Institute that features workshops on leadership development, holistic care, community service, and personal development. This is supplemented by MMBLI's second part, the Circle of Excellence, an ongoing series of roundtables and community service.

MEMBERSHIP TEAM
The duties involve recruiting members; keeping individual records of members (dues paid with dates); retaining members-effecting renewals; planning membership drives and other activities or projects to implement above functions; develops relationships with affiliate members; responsible for hospitably functions of the section; and reporting the membership status of the Section to the National office.

PUBLIC RELATIONS TEAM
Keeps the community and public currently and regularly informed of activities and services being rendered by the Section through the use of communications media (news, TV, radio, newsletters, and Internet), and other official business and community contacts. The chairperson will act as the official spokesperson of the section when the president and vice president are not available.

RESEARCH/ PUBLIC POLICY TEAM
Has knowledge of local, state, and national government; develops awareness among members of their responsibilities as voters, residents and taxpayers; encourages active participation and voting, knows how government is operated; and cooperates with other civic minded groups. Researches and develops policies that are relevant to the community.
